About Us

Courtney’s Canine Care opened April 1, 2012 as an affordable boarding facility to assist local and out-of-state rescue groups with short term boarding for shelter dogs/pups that have been rescued from high kill shelters.

Many rescued dogs need short term boarding or quarantine until they transport out to their foster homes or rescue groups.

We became a 501(c)3 non-profit rescue in 2015. Our mission is to help save as many dogs as we can and find them the forever homes that they deserve. We will continue to work with local and out-of-state rescue groups that have the same passion we do. It takes an army to save these precious souls.

We help with adoption events and continue to advocate for stronger laws against animal abuse and mandatory spay and neuter laws. Won’t you help us by joining the fight?

Adoption Process and Fee

We do not do same day adoptions because we want to ensure that our dogs have forever families. To ensure that the dog you are interested in would be a good fit for your family and for them, we ask you to fill out a preliminary application. We do not disqualify you for a lack of fence; some dogs require fences some do not and all of our dogs are required to live inside your home as a family member.

After we receive your application, we proceed to a potential meet with the candidates we all agree would be a good fit. Then, we spend time with each candidate and if all goes well, they would be allowed to go on a one-week home trial. (You would sign a home trial agreement.) If all goes well during the home trial, and you choose to finalize the adoption, our adoption fee is $175 for dogs 6 months and older. For puppies under 6 months, we do not do a home trial period and the adoption fee for puppies is $275. This helps us to recover some minimal vetting costs, so we can help another dog in need.

Our main goal is finding loving, forever families. Keep that in mind as you read through our process and fees.

All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on all shots, Heartworm tested on prevention and micro-chipped.
